Sadie's Blessing Day

Sadie was blessed on December 20, 2009 by her father, Ben. It was a beautiful day and Ben did a great job. Our ward was split the week after Sadie was born and so it was a new ward where we blessed her. Everybody was so kind and so excited to have a new baby in the ward. Thanks to Mom and Dad for Sadie's beautiful blessing dress.

Welcome Home Sadie

We brought Sadie home Saturday November 7th.
Ian and my parents were waiting at home. My mom was the only other person besides Ben that could be at the hospital, so we had an anxious and excited big brother and grandpa waiting for us.

Ian was thrilled and so happy and excited to see me and Sadie. I hadn't seen him for three days!!!! I missed him so much. (I cried the whole way to the hospital and during labor. It was the longest I'd be apart from him).

Welcome Baby Sadie

After trick or treating for hours with Ian, I thought for sure I would go into labor on Halloween. I was having pains and everything hurt. After eating a late dinner and sitting for a bit, I felt fine. Nothing happened the next day or the next. Tuesday I had a Dr. appt and she said she would start me if I wanted. I wanted to go on my own, but being past my due date and nothing was happening, I agreed. So, we set it up for Thursday the 5th. I had to be at the hospital at 7:30 in the morning.

About 9:30 my doctor broke my water and the pit was started at 9:00. About 11:30 I got my epidural, which was wonderful. We made slow progress and the finally I went from a 6 to a 10 and complete in about an hour. We waited another hour for her head to come down a little more. Finally around 5 we were ready to push and my Dr. got there just in time. 15 mins later we had a beautiful baby girl. I got to have her with me the whole time. It was wonderful. I got to see her first bath and everyting. All was well and healthy!
