Easter at Stan and Sharon's. 2010 This year has been nothing short of CRAZY and stressful. As I posted earlier, we had a lot of health problems including seizures with Ben and Sadie, going back to school for me, working and of course raising two active and fun children. I mentioned on my last post several months ago that my father-in-law (Stan Greenhalgh) was diagnosed in May with stage four Pancreatic Cancer. He did fairly wellwith the chemo and treatments, still being able to go to Bear Lake and even on a trip with all his kids to San Francisco in August.
During the summer he was diagnosed with diabetes (as a result of the cancer), and not long a after had to start getting fluid drained from his abdomen. No matter how bad he felt, high pain lever, or his ever growing tiredness, he still had a happy smiling face and loved to make my kids happy. He always wanted to take Ian for a ranger ride. They loved doing that together and going to see the horses and cows. Ian had his seat up front right next to Poppa.
Sadly, Stan passed away on October 12, 2010. It was a very peaceful passing and he didn't have to suffer for long. Even just days before he moved on, he was concerned about Ian going on a ranger ride and asked me two days in a row if we had taken him. His passing is something we didn't think we would have to deal with for 20 more years. Stan was well prepared to meet our Father in Heaven and we know he is doing great things on the other side. He was a great man and will be deaply missed.
